Valter Uusberg

Animated film director Valter Uusberg was born on July 11, 1953. He graduated from the Tallinn Pedagogical Institute as an art teacher. In the 1970s, he worked as an art teacher at Juuru Secondary School. Thanks to his classmate Heiki Ernitsa, he managed to get a job as an artist-director with Rein Raamat on the film “Suur Tõll”, which was completed in 1980. He worked at the Tallinnfilm animation studio from 1981–93. 1993. In 2001, he started working as a cultural advisor in the Rapla rural municipality government, where he stayed for fifteen years. After working as an official, he continued to work as an artist in films and, alongside this work, increasingly began to teach children in Rapla about art, photography, film and theatre. As the chairman of the board of the Rapla Theatre Production Society, he has led the theatre life of Rapla for many years.
