Film Festival Kaader 2024 Participation Terms
General Terms
Film Festival Kaader will take place from October 10-12, 2024, in Rapla.
Participating teams must create an original short film within 24 hours.
All teams and participants must follow the schedule and rules set by the festival organizers.
Participation Categories
Participants are divided into three categories:
- Youth Films: Ages 14–19
- Short Films: Ages 20+
The authors must select the category based on their age. The film authors will submit their film in the category to which they belong.
Registration and Participation Fee
All participants must register before the festival’s deadline by completing the registration form on the festival’s official website.
The participation fee is €15 per team, payable upon registration. The fee is non-refundable.
Registration closes on October 6, 2024, and late registrations are generally not accepted.
Film Creation
Each film must be created within the 24-hour period specified in the festival’s official schedule.
The maximum film length is 7 minutes, and the minimum length is 3 minutes.
Participants must adhere to the following technical requirements:
- Films must be submitted in MP4 or MOV file formats.
- The minimum resolution must be 1080p (Full HD).
- Each team will receive a 6-digit code before filming begins, which must be displayed as separate clips in each location where filming takes place.
Theme and Restrictions
The theme of the film is freely chosen.
All films must be suitable for a broad audience and comply with the following content restrictions:
- No inappropriate, racist, sexist, or otherwise discriminatory content.
- No use of violence or offensive material that may violate existing laws.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
All materials used in the film, including music, sound effects, and visuals, must be original or properly licensed.
Teams are responsible for ensuring their films comply with copyright laws. All participants confirm that their films do not infringe on the rights of third parties.
Participants grant the organizers the right to screen and distribute their films as part of the festival, including through the festival’s online channels, social media, and future events.
Submission and Deadlines
Completed films must be submitted to the organizers no later than 24 hours after the start of the respective competition round.
Films must be submitted through the festival’s official platform, with details provided at the start of the 24-hour session.
An additional 1 hour is granted for uploading the film.
Films can also be submitted physically (on an external hard drive, USB stick, etc.). In this case, no extra time for uploading will be granted.
Late submissions will not qualify for judging and will not participate in the competition.
Film Public Release Restrictions
Participants are not allowed to upload or publicly show their completed films before the final event on October 12, 2024, has officially ended. This applies to all platforms, including but not limited to social media, YouTube, Vimeo, and other video-sharing platforms. Organizers reserve the right to disqualify teams that violate this rule.
Judging and Awards
Films will be judged by a professional jury.
The jury will evaluate films based on the following criteria:
- Storytelling and originality (25%)
- Direction and production (20%)
- Cinematography (20%)
- Editing (15%)
- Sound design and music (10%)
- Overall impression and impact (10%)
The best films in each category will be announced at the final event on October 12, 2024.
In addition to the main categories, the jury may present special awards for outstanding creative contributions.
Safety and Code of Conduct
All participants must adhere to the safety rules and local laws at the festival venues.
During filming, participants must not endanger the health and safety of themselves or the public.
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify teams that violate safety rules or engage in inappropriate behavior.
Changes and Organizer Rights
The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the festival schedule, judging process, and other conditions if necessary for the smooth running of the festival.
The organizers are not responsible for technical problems or delays beyond their control.
Consent and Confirmation
By registering, each participant confirms they have read and agree to these participation terms.
All participants take responsibility for their conduct, the films they submit, and the content of their films.
